It took a bit of trial and error, but I finally got it to the painting stage. I used three layers of craft foam for the base and hot glue injected into fondant molds for the designs (an idea I got from

). The whole thing is still quite flexible so it will be easier to travel with. I just put on the final layer of gold spray paint, next step is adding the finish.

I left a few holes in the design so I can add in some spherical glass beads later.

More updates later! I've got about forty yards each of lace and trim on order for the next part.

Ouf, I would never think of trying Abel...too many metal bits and bobs. Seth at least is still mostly fabric...and lace...lots and lots of lace...
